Ciarán brings advanced capabilities in conducting high-quality, desk-based analysis. His attention to detail and ability to synthesise multiple types of evidence to develop novel insights, are essential in supporting our projects.
Before joining Urban Foresight, Ciarán worked as the Communications Manager for a national bookseller. He was responsible for identifying and leveraging market trends to maximise the reach and engagement of the brand’s communication activities.
Ciarán’s draws on these skills to develop his expertise in understanding the role of culture and society in shaping places. He is passionate about sustainability, particularly within smaller communities. Ciarán looks for ways to regenerate, innovate, and improve sustainability in towns and villages.
He completed a Masters in Medieval History at the University of St Andrews. His thesis focused on understanding the establishment of the Catholic church in early medieval Denmark. Ciarán adopted a novel and original angle, honing both qualitative and quantitative research skills to assess the role of the Danish crown in this process. He also developed a keen ability to navigate through multilingual sources, translating work from Danish and German.
