Powering Change: supporting organisations in North Northamptonshire to reach net zero
Delivering tailored decarbonisation business support
Urban Foresight is proud to be delivering Powering Change, a new initiative launched by North Northamptonshire Council to help local businesses and community organisations on their journey to net zero.
Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the programme provides practical tools, expert guidance and access to funding that empower organisations to take meaningful climate action.
The programme will support 50 businesses and 25 community organisations to complete detailed carbon footprint assessments, and will enable 20 businesses and 15 community organisations to develop tailored Carbon Reduction Plans aligned with public procurement standards.
Urban Foresight will lead delivery of a comprehensive package of support through expert-led workshops, personalised one-to-one guidance, and help in securing grant funding to put carbon reduction plans into practice. Participants will also gain free access to a powerful digital platform that makes it simple to measure carbon footprints and create bespoke Carbon Reduction Plans.
A spokesperson for North Northamptonshire Council said, “We cannot achieve meaningful environmental progress without the support of our communities and businesses. This programme is about giving them the tools, knowledge, and confidence to take action and deliver wider benefits.”
Urban Foresight brings extensive experience in delivering sustainability programmes across the UK. We have supported local authorities, SMEs, and community groups with climate action plans, decarbonisation strategies, and funding access. Our work includes:
- Delivering a programme for Zero Waste Scotland to support organisations developing carbon management strategies.
- Delivering a community-capacity building programme for sustainability across wight counties in the Midlands region of the Republic of Ireland.
