New Local Area Energy Plan to guide decarbonisation and clean growth
Planning for a net zero future in North Northamptonshire
Urban Foresight has been appointed to develop an innovative Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP) for North Northamptonshire Council. This strategic plan will guide investment, shape planning decisions, and identify opportunities for clean growth across housing, transport, industry, and infrastructure.
Powering clean growth through local insight
Leveraging our expertise in sustainable infrastructure and energy systems, our team will apply a proven five-phase methodology. This approach includes emissions assessments, spatial energy modelling, and active engagement with local businesses and industries.
The outcome will be a practical costed roadmap to decarbonisation, shaped by robust data and meaningful stakeholder input.
Crucially, it will go beyond modelling to offer a clear framework for action across key sectors, aligned with local economic development and infrastructure goals.
“We’re delighted to support North Northamptonshire in shaping this Local Area Energy Plan,” said Anneliese Allen-Norris, Project Manager at Urban Foresight. “This plan is a chance to turn ambition into practical outcomes. By combining robust data with local insights, we’re developing something that delivers real benefits for businesses, industry and the environment.”
A trusted partner in net zero delivery
This project builds on Urban Foresight’s successful track record delivering similar initiatives across the UK, including the Charnwood Carbon Neutral Plan, the Sheffield City Region net zero programme, and Just Transition Plan for West Kildare.
The final LAEP is expected to be published by North Northamptonshire Council in 2026.
