Creating Better Places

Rooted in real-world evidence, this overarching handbook and accompanying series of ten resource packs will help local authorities act to overcome barriers to net zero transition. The packs bring together insight, materials, practical steps, and tools and methodologies from the 52 local authorities in Innovate UK’s landmark Net Zero Living Programme.

The packs are especially useful for local authorities but their relevance is not restricted to climate change teams. Whether you work in local planning, finance, housing, transport, corporate services or another council service, you’ll find case studies, guidance, tips and more.

Packs 1 to 9 describe in detail how local authorities can overcome particular delivery challenges. Resource pack 10 is a little different and gives you a perspective on each of the seven Pathfinder Demonstrator projects funded through the Programme.
